Farrell police have identified 24-year-old, Robert Lee Zeman, of 402 New Castle Avenue, as the suspect who broke into the Golden Dawn.

Several law enforcement agencies were on the scene investigating after an overnight incident inside the store led to Zeman being shot by police.

Farrell police have charged Zeman with burglary, criminal trespass and possessing an instrument of crime and a warrant has been issued for Zeman's arrest.

Farrell police, State Police and a forensics team could be seen outside the Golden Dawn store on Sharon New Castle Road early Wednesday morning.

Hermitage Police Chief Eric Jewell tells 21 News that around 1 a.m. on Wednesday morning Farrell Police Officers were responding to a call of someone inside the store and called out for assistance from surrounding communities.

Jewell said Hermitage officers were among those who responded.

According to Jewell officers entered the store and found Zeman inside.

Jewell tells 21 News the suspect "posed a threat to officers". At that point, a Hermitage Police Officer, as well as an officer from another department fired at the suspect.

Zeman was shot by one of the bullets, however, according to Jewell, it has not been determined which bullet struck Zeman.

Zeman was injured and taken to the hospital.

Pennsylvania State Police and the Mercer County District Attorney's Office are handling the investigation.

The store is across Division Street from Farrell Area High School, where a send-off was being held for the football team Wednesday morning.
