Charity auction being held for last Chevy Cruze made in Lordstown

Posted: Updated:
POLAND, Ohio -

The person who purchased the last Lordstown built Chevy Cruze is going to use it to raise money for a good cause.

Businessman  Ed Muransky announced at a press conference Monday that his family bought the last car to roll off the line at the General Motors Lordstown Plant last month.  Muransky plans to auction off the car to benefit the children and families served by the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley.

People will be able to bid on the Cruze online by going to bidpal.net/lastcruze

"The United Way and employees at the GM Lordstown plant have a strong history.  The employees have been dedicated donors and volunteers to the United Way cause for more than 50 years, and we wanted to honor that relationship by purchasing the Last Chevy Cruze made by the hands of these men and women who so generously supported our community," said Ed Muransky.

How to bid:

To bid on the last Chevy Cruze, you will go to bidpal.net/lastcruze.  From there you will be asked to register.  Once that occurs, you will receive a text message to your phone allowing you quick access to the website.  You will need to enter your credit card information, but the final payment can be arranged with the United Way.  Winner of the car must be a licensed, insured driver and will be responsible for all applicable taxes, title, plate and document fees associated with the vehicle. You must register with a credit card to bid; however final payment will be accepted by check or credit card from the winner.

You can see the last Cruze on display at several Valley locations:
